Vietnam is renowned for its long-standing agricultural development, with numerous globally recognized agrarian export products, including rice, cashews, coffee, spices, and vegetables. Tremendous productive benefits have been derived from the use of pesticides nowadays. On the other hand, the consumption of pesticide residues has been linked to several adverse impacts on human health. 

• The EU applies the EC 396/2005 regulatory framework, featuring Maximum Residue Limits (MRLs) that are updated annually and set at increasingly lower levels for active substances such as
• Chlorpyrifos, Carbendazim, and Oxamyl.
  The United States establishes MRLs under the FFDCA, with strict monitoring by the EPA and FDA at points of entry.
• Vietnam currently employs the QCVN system and food safety inspection regulations in accordance with Circular 50/2016/TT-BYT (which superseded older regulations such as 46/2007/QĐ-BYT).

Pesticide testing plays an important part in the export process, especially in countries that have stringent regulations about maximum residue limit (MRL), such as Japan, the EU, the U.S., and so on.
