Laboratories of Eurofins Water Hygiene Testing are able to assess the composition of targeted metals present in water across a wide variety of applications and sample matrix types.
Metals analysis is critical for monitoring water quality across drinking water, closed systems, process circuits and environmental discharges. Elevated levels of lead, copper, iron, zinc, aluminium and nickel can signal corrosion, contamination or treatment failure; potentially impacting human health, infrastructure and compliance. Routine testing manages risk and supports the performance of water systems.
Metals enter water through pipework corrosion, leaching from fixtures, source water ingress or chemical dosing residues. Testing helps assess system condition and supports compliance with frameworks such as the Water Supply Regulations; BS 8552; BG29 and BG50; and Trade Effluent Consents. Test results can be used to verify inhibitor dosing, softener performance and treatment efficacy.
Eurofins water hygiene testing offers multi‑metal analysis with ICP‑OES and ICP‑MS for dissolved and total metals. Common suites include:
Typical turnaround is three to five working days depending on matrix and project scope. Testing is delivered through UKAS-accredited laboratories; accreditation is matrix dependent. Regulatory alignment; methods developed to reflect current UK and EU standards and industry best practice. Where required; approved subcontractors; including Eurofins European competence centre partners with extended scope.
Eurofins UK clients benefit from our extensive and free to use logistics and sample drop-off network with over 60 drop-off locations.
