Surface water testing

Surface waters including rivers, lakes and streams are vulnerable to contamination from agricultural runoff, industrial discharge and urban pollution. Testing helps assess water quality and ensures compliance with environmental standards:

  • Microbiological analysis; total viable counts, coliforms, Escherichia coli, enterococci, sulphate reducing bacteria
  • Chemical analysis; ammoniacal nitrogen, COD, BOD, heavy metals, anions (chloride, sulphate, nitrate), phenols, VOCs
