Eurofins Water Hygiene Testing UK selected for Ofwat Water Innovation Fund support
Eurofins Water Hygiene Testing UK has been selected as one of only eight organisations across the UK to receive Stage 1 funding through Ofwat's Water Innovation Fund.
The £50,000 award will support the development of a proposal to expand Regulation 31 testing capacity at our Wolverhampton laboratory. Regulation 31 testing is required to demonstrate that products and materials that come into contact with drinking water are safe for use.
The UK currently faces a shortage of specialist testing capacity, creating challenges for manufacturers seeking approval for new products and technologies. Our proposal aims to help address this bottleneck by establishing dedicated testing facilities that could accelerate the route to market for innovative solutions.
This recognition highlights Eurofins Water Hygiene Testing UK's technical expertise and commitment to supporting the UK water sector. It also reinforces the strength of the wider Eurofins laboratory network in helping industry meet regulatory requirements while driving innovation.
If successful in the next phase, projects may be eligible for additional funding to bring new testing facilities online and further enhance capacity across the sector.
