Starting with a fresh, well-separated single colony, the pathogen can be identified within 15 minutes, meaning you will receive the result within 24 hours. Thanks to our wide range of analyses, there is no need for you to send us separate individual colonies. If necessary, we can also culture the colonies from your samples, in which case the analysis time will simply be extended by the incubation time required.

Conventional microbiological analysis methods are often relatively slow, as they require several steps for confirmation. By using MALDI-TOF for pathogen identification, the time taken from a presumptive positive finding to the final result can be reduced by up to two days, which represents a valuable saving of time

Operational Monitoring and Root Cause Analysis

The technology is now also used for ‘source tracking’ or ‘root cause analysis’ – that is, the search for the source of contamination. Identifications that previously had to be carried out laboriously using time-consuming and costly molecular biological techniques can now be performed quickly and to a high standard using MALDI-TOF MS. Microbial identification enables the source of contamination to be pinpointed more quickly and reliably, so that the necessary measures can be taken in a targeted manner. This method is therefore ideal as the basis for operational monitoring.
