Accurate cannabinoid profile (potency) testing

Our laboratory utilises a fully validated in-house analytical method employing High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) with UV detection, ensuring accurate and reliable quantification across a variety of cannabis matrices.

Cannabinoids

Cannabinoids are the active compounds present in cannabis that contribute to both its medicinal and psychoactive effects. Accurate measurement and reporting of cannabinoid content are essential to ensure product quality, safety, and regulatory compliance.

The Cannabis Act requires the following cannabinoids be quantitatively measured:

thc
thca
cbd
cbda
cbn
cbna

In addition to regulatory testing, we offer an expanded in-house method capable of quantifying 17 cannabinoids, providing a comprehensive cannabinoid profile. This method includes:

  • CBDVA – Cannabidivarinic Acid
  • CBDV – Cannabidivarin
  • CBDA – Cannabidiolic Acid
  • CBGA – Cannabigerolic Acid
  • CBG – Cannabigerol
  • CBD – Cannabidiol
  • THCV – Tetrahydrocannabivarin
  • THCVA – Tetrahydrocannabivarinic Acid
  • CBN – Cannabinol
  • CBNA – Cannabinolic Acid
  • Δ9-THC – Delta-9-Tetrahydrocannabinol
  • Δ8-THC – Delta-8-Tetrahydrocannabinol
  • CBL – Cannabicyclol
  • CBC – Cannabichromene
  • THCA – Tetrahydrocannabinolic Acid
  • CBCA – Cannabichromenic Acid
  • CBLA – Cannabicyclolic Acid

Additional cannabinoids of interest can be included upon request, depending on specific project requirements.

Additional services

We also offer compendial testing aligned with international pharmacopoeias:

  • European Pharmacopoeia (Ph. Eur.) (EP): Cannabinoid analysis for dried cannabis flower, in accordance with established monograph requirements.
  • German Pharmacopoeia (DAB): Verified method suitable for fresh plant material, dried cannabis, and extracted oil products, providing flexibility across a wide range of matrices.
