As of 2 October, 2023, WFC Analytics B.V. and WFC Food Safety B.V. have joined the laboratory network of Eurofins Food, Feed, Water Testing Benelux. This combined expertise enables the laboratories to continue delivering high-end, innovative microbiological testing and research services to both existing and new clients. The analytical portfolio is expanding, offering clients end-to-end support across laboratory testing and consultancy. Furthermore, this integration enables both laboratories to strengthen their regional presence.
For WFC, Eurofins’ international knowledge network, specialised research capabilities, and innovation strength deliver substantial added value. This allows the organisation to respond swiftly to trends in the food supply chain and implement the latest analytical techniques. Moreover, economies of scale and ongoing investments create opportunities for greater customisation and client service, a positive step that aligns with evolving market expectations.
WFC is widely recognised for its high level of service and innovative approach, making it a valuable addition to the Eurofins network. In the short term, day-to-day operations remain largely unchanged. Service levels and testing standards will remain at their usual high standard, with the laboratories operating under the names Eurofins WFC Analytics and Eurofins WFC Food Safety. Over the coming years, strategic enhancements will be introduced, maintaining a strong focus on innovation and quality assurance. The facilities will continue to operate from their site in Arkel.
With over 700 employees across 13 competence centers and laboratories in the Netherlands and Belgium, Eurofins Food, Feed, Water Benelux plays a crucial role in safeguarding food and water safety. The Eurofins network of companies considers this one of its core responsibilities. Consumers increasingly demand full transparency about their food: how it is produced, whether farmers receive fair compensation, and whether label claims match the actual contents. For producers and retailers, obtaining reliable data on the authenticity and origin of raw materials and finished goods is essential. The Eurofins network is a financially robust organisation whose growth is driven by continuous investment in talent and infrastructure. This approach fits the Eurofins network’s acquisition strategy: maintaining the core strengths of acquired organisations while supporting their growth and operational excellence.
Eurofins – Testing for Life – was founded in 1987 and has grown into a leading global laboratory network. Operating across 57 countries with more than 65,000 employees and over 900 laboratories, Eurofins offers a portfolio of over 200,000 analytical methods. Eurofins believes it is a global leader in testing and laboratory services for food, environmental, and pharmaceutical products, as well as forensic testing, materials sciences, and agroscience contract research services.
