Eurofins MTS Consumer Product Testing UK extends appointment as UK Approved Body to include PPE

Eurofins MTS Consumer Product Testing UK, part of the Eurofins Softlines & Leather, Toys & Hardlines (SLTH) network of laboratories, is proud to announce that it has been appointed by the Office for Product Safety and Standards (OPSS) as a UK Approved Body and UKNI Notified Body for the certification of PPE against Regulation 2016/425 as enacted in the UK. The appointment on PPE follows our successful accreditation to EN ISO 17065 and builds on our existing appointment as an Approved Body and UKNI Notified Body for toys.

The scope of appointment includes both Type Examination (Module B) and Module C2 surveillance of conformity to type based on internal production control plus supervised product checks at random intervals. The range of PPE covered by the appointment includes protection against heat and flame, protection against mechanical risks, electric shock, non-ionising radiation, and chemical agents for both clothing and hand protection as well as high visibility protection.

The UK PPE certification team is led by Marc Gaten and is supported by an extensive range of EN ISO 17025 accredited testing on clothing and gloves available from the testing laboratory facility in Leeds. This appointment further builds on the expansion of PPE product certification across the Eurofins SLTH network, including our EU Notified Body in Spain, to deliver a comprehensive customer-centric world leading service.
