From its formation in 2017, the Eurofins Softlines & Leather global network of laboratories has been a challenger in consumer product testing and at the forefront of innovation in the textile and apparel industry. We pride ourself on having some of the newest testing laboratories within the Eurofins network, which allows us to deliver innovative and expert-driven testing services worldwide.
With a proud history of dynamic growth and expansion., this includes the acquisition of the leading leather testing and technology centre BLC in 2018 and the renowned Modern Testing Services in 2021.

Founded as the British Leather Confederation in 1920 in Northampton UK, a cornerstone of the British shoemaking industry, r industry, BLC was a research hub for the leather industry. From 2005, the organisation has overseen the management of the Leather Working Group, a leading ESG initiative in the fashion and retail sector. As a very technical organisation, the BLC portfolio offers a diverse range of products and an entrepreneurial mindset that made it an attractive prospect to add to the Eurofins Softlines & Leather network.
With over 120 years of innovation in the leather sector, and despite being UK-based, Eurofins | BLC has a global footprint and a long pedigree of excellence and respect in the industry. Eurofins | MTS
Founded in Hong Kong in 2006 by TIC industry veterans with under 100 employees, Modern Testing Services (MTS) experienced rapid growth to become a global organisation with 20 laboratories and over 1000 employees. As a technical company, the MTS culture was dedicated to the core philosophy of being the most responsive, knowledgeable, and customer-centric in the industry, working with clients on customised solutions. This focus on building customer relationships and continuous improvement allowed MTS to set itself apart and this focus has continued post-acquisition.
The acquisition of MTS has expanded the Eurofins Softlines & Leather network to over 25 laboratories globally, allowing us to offer expert-driven, customer-centric solutions worldwide for the consumer products industry. Maintaining the MTS spirit, We work with our clients to develop customised solutions and testing packages for their specific needs to increase speed-to-market efficiency, reduce cost by eliminating unnecessary testing, and position their products to meet and exceed customer expectations.
