The cost of certification varies depending on the product type and complexity. To receive an accurate quote, please complete the certification request form here.
Timelines vary based on, readiness and acceptability of documentation, and sample availability. If all documentation is provided promptly and samples are shipped overnight, it can be as quick as 5-6 weeks. Once we receive your completed application and supporting materials, we’ll provide feedback on data acceptability and availability and can then provide an updated estimated timeline during the initial engagement call.
Meeting Amazon verification requirements does not guarantee your product will meet certification requirements. Amazon’s policies include part, but not all the NSF/ANSI 173 and Eurofins P101 standard requirements. Our certification program outlines the policies required to earn certification and use the certification mark. The process is designed to align with major retailer and platform requirements, including Amazon, to ensure market readiness and compliance. We will confirm compatibility during the initial review of your product.
If your product is already certified, we can assess whether any part of your existing certification meets our process requirements or if additional testing or documentation is needed. We’ll gladly review your existing certification to determine compatibility or identify any gaps.
NSF: Both Eurofins and NSF 173 certification are very similar in that they are both to the same public standard. There may be some small difference in process and approach, but they should be very similar.
Informed: Informed is primarily a sport or protein certification and so not inclusive of all labels claims and contaminants required by NSF/ANSI 173 and Eurofins P101, or the onsite audit requirement of both Eurofins and NSF.
BSCG: BSCG is primarily a sport certification, testing for banned substances, and so not inclusive of all labels claims and contaminants required by 173 and P101, or the onsite audit requirement of both Eurofins and NSF.
To begin, you’ll need:
A detailed product formula is also required but the formula template will be provided upon the decision to proceed with certification. Our team will walk you through the complete documentation checklist during onboarding.
A current and valid GMP Certificate from an ISO 17065 or ISO 17021 accredited third-party certification program inclusive of applicable parts of 21 CFR 111/117 for dietary supplements and 21 CFR117, or 21 CFR 111/117 for foods and dietary ingredients.
The accreditation body must be an ILAC or IAF member.
It is recommended your manufacturer become certified before proceeding far with product certification, and it is required prior to product listing, even if all other requirements are met.
If you accept the risk, GMP and other product certification requirements may be evaluated concurrently. If you would like a referral, Eurofins Assurance offers Accredited, third-party certification to 21 CFR 11/117 and the ANSI 455-2 2024, and GRMA.
Certification remains valid unless withdrawn by you or Eurofins Assurance due to non-compliance or voluntary exit.
Certification is maintained through annual audits of each manufacturing facility and product testing. As long as certification in place, Eurofins will perform these audits and testing per program policies and procedures.
To remain compliant, certified products must undergo:
We’re happy to help facilitate communication between your manufacturing partner and our team to gather the necessary documentation and data, however it is your responsibility to obtain the cooperation.
After signing, we’ll schedule an engagement call to review key contacts, confirm the information provided, and outline next steps in the certification process.
That’s perfectly acceptable. Just ensure your manufacturer agrees to collaborate with us. We’ll work directly with them to obtain the required information and conduct necessary audits or testing.
If certain claims cannot be verified through direct testing, we can test the raw material or audit the manufacturing practices to support those claims.
Any changes made to a Eurofins-certified product —including ingredients, manufacturing site, or label claims—must be reported to Eurofins Assurance before the change is made. We’ll assess whether what documentation updates or retesting are needed to maintain certification. This will ensure your product’s continued compliance with the ANSI 173 or Eurofins P101 standards. If changes are made to a product without prior review, the product is not certified.
Amazon’s Compliance Program helps ensure that products meet basic marketplace requirements, such as documentation and testing. It’s primarily focused on confirming that products are safe and meet minimum regulatory standards for listing.
Our Product Certification Program goes further. It involves a full review of your product’s formulation, labeling, and testing plan to confirm it meets established standards for quality and safety. This process is conducted by an independent certification body and includes ongoing oversight. Certified products earn the right to use a certification mark, which can help build trust with retailers and consumers across multiple platforms.
While our program is designed to align with Amazon’s requirements, it also supports broader market access and credibility.
If a certified product is flagged by Amazon, the brand should ensure that Eurofins is selected as the TIC organization. Upon receiving a verification request from Amazon, the Eurofins team will respond directly confirming that the product is currently certified and in good standing. This process helps maintain transparency and supports the brand’s compliance with Amazon’s listing requirements.
