First EU-Type Examination Certificate RED Article 3.3 (Cybersecurity) issued by Eurofins E&E

Eurofins Product Service GmbH, an EU Notified Body (No. 0681) for 2014/53/EU Radio Equipment Directive, has issued its first EU-Type Examination Certificate under Article 3.3 (Cybersecurity) for a leading global manufacturer of IoT products.

By partnering with Eurofins Product Service GmbH as a Notified Body and undergoing the evaluation process for Cybersecurity, the manufacturer can now demonstrate compliance with RED essential requirements before they become mandatory, allowing them to be at the forefront of product safety, reliability and security.

Although the implementation date for Cybersecurity within the Radio Equipment Directive has been extended to the 1st August 2025, manufacturers can start their preparations now with the support of Eurofins E&E, ensuring they are prepared in advance of the deadline and that their products can continue to be placed on the market after the implementation date. Products can be certified against globally recognized Cybersecurity standards like ETSI EN 303 645 and IEC 62443.

These standards include requirements that align with the Cybersecurity provisions outlined in RED, effectively equipping manufacturers for the upcoming regulatory requirements that will become mandatory in 2025.
