Ndes Foundation

The Ndes Foundation is focused on the emancipation and empowerment of the underprivileged through the provision of financial, material and technical assistance in the areas of education, health and child protection. Its primary beneficiaries are orphaned children, homeless children, people living with disabilities, and patients from poorer backgrounds with chronic diseases.

In 2020/2021, the Eurofins Foundation provided a grant for the three-phased project to provide an uninterrupted supply of electricity and improve access to food and clean water for over 39 blind trainees of the Rehabilitation Institute for the Blind (Bulu Blind Centre) in Buea.

Thanks to the support of the Eurofins Foundation, a bore hole clean water station was made available and easily accessible to 39 blind children and approximately 1,000 inhabitants in the surrounding Bolifamba community.
Thanks to this water station, the children no longer need to travel unsafe and treacherous roads or risk drowning in order to fetch water from a nearby stream. It also means a significant reduction in dirty water-related infections such as typhoid and diarrhoea, etc.

This project has also provided a stable electricity supply to the Bulu Blind Centre affiliated clinic. Today, thanks to this project, vaccines and other medications can be stored at the health clinic, thus facilitating access to emergency treatments for blind children and the entire community.

The rejuvenated bore hole has also been of great help in ensuring the proper functioning of the clinic. With access to clean water, the staff can safely clean and sterilise their medical equipment, as well as improve the overall smooth functioning of the clinic.
