Imagine for Margo (France)

Imagine for Margo – Children without Cancer is a French non-profit organisation founded in 2011 in memory of Margo, a 14-year-old girl who passed away from an aggressive brain tumour. The association is dedicated to accelerating paediatric cancer research, raising awareness, mobilising healthcare stakeholders, and improving the wellbeing of children and their families. Since its creation, Imagine for Margo has invested over €23 million in research, supported more than 7,000 children, and contributed to the development of over 100 new therapies. The organisation also plays a leading role in European initiatives such as “Fight Kids Cancer,” advocating for better treatments and outcomes for children across borders.
In 2025-2026, the Eurofins Foundation is supporting the project “BIOMEDE.” This international clinical trial aims to transform the treatment of Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma (DIPG), one of the most aggressive and fatal paediatric brain tumours.
DIPG affects around 500 children each year in Europe, with a median survival of less than nine months and no standard curative treatment beyond palliative radiotherapy. BIOMEDE, launched in 2016 and led by Gustave Roussy with support from Imagine for Margo, has already achieved unprecedented results: four children have been cured, and several others are long-term survivors. The trial introduces biopsies at diagnosis and uses comprehensive genetic profiling to guide personalised treatments, marking a major breakthrough in paediatric oncology. Expanding BIOMEDE to nine additional European countries will allow 600 children to access cutting-edge therapies and contribute to vital research on DIPG biology.
The Eurofins Foundation will support the opening of a new clinical centre, enabling more families to benefit from this life-saving trial. The project will deliver personalised treatment plans based on tumour genetics, combined with radiotherapy, and will include full molecular analysis to identify biomarkers for future therapies.
