Concern Worldwide

Concern Worldwide is an international humanitarian organisation founded in 1968 and headquartered in Ireland, with operations in 26 countries across Africa, Asia, the Middle East, Europe and the Caribbean. Its mission is to help people living in extreme poverty to make lasting improvements to their lives by delivering programmes in health and nutrition, livelihoods, education, gender equality, climate resilience and emergency response. In 2023 alone, Concern reached 30 million people through its interventions.

In 2025-2026, the Eurofins Foundation is supporting the project “Multidimensional Approach to Combat Malnutrition in Rohingya Refugee Camps, Cox’s Bazar.” This initiative focuses on sustaining life-saving nutrition services for some of the world’s most vulnerable populations living in overcrowded refugee camps in Bangladesh.

Between 2017 and 2025, nearly 1.2 million Rohingya refugees fled violence in Myanmar and settled in Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh, creating the world’s largest refugee camp. Over 75% of this population are women and children, living in conditions of extreme food insecurity, poor sanitation and limited healthcare. Malnutrition rates far exceed emergency thresholds, alongside widespread anaemia and micronutrient deficiencies. Global shifts in funding have placed critical nutrition facilities at risk of closure, threatening the survival of thousands of children and mothers.

This project will keep one Integrated Nutrition Facility fully operational, providing treatment for severe and moderate acute malnutrition, maternal nutrition support, growth monitoring, counselling, and preventive feeding services. The grant from the Eurofins Foundation will cover essential nurses and other frontline staff, ensuring that services continue.
