Gain proficiency in handling various microbiological techniques

This training module aims to provide in-depth knowledge of microbiology test methods and the necessary precautions to take. Participants will learn about different microorganisms, including bacteria, fungi, and protozoa, and their effects. The programme includes hands-on practice in media preparation and the use of various laboratory equipment. Trainees will also learn techniques for isolating, identifying, culturing, maintaining, and verifying microorganisms.

6-day training module

Day 1

Introduction to IS/ISO and NABL standards, their importance, and laboratory activities.

Day 2

Media preparation and autoclaving according to good laboratory practices.

Day 3

 Microbiology testing of different water samples.

Day 4

Microbiology testing of various consumer testing products samples.

Day 5

Instrument validation and laboratory maintenance as per GLP.

Day 6

Environmental sampling, testing of microbes, swab testing, and antimicrobial activity of materials.

Minimum eligibility required: Diploma or a graduate degree in science, or currently pursuing a qualification in a related field.
