Training on AAS

Atomic Absorption Spectroscopy (AAS) is a technique for determining chemical elements quantitatively by using the absorption of optical radiations by free atoms in gaseous state. This allows us to determine the concentration of a particular element present in a sample efficiently and accurately. AAS can determine more than 70 different elements in a solution or in solid samples used in biophysics, toxicology and pharmacology research.

Eurofins Environment Testing India organises training programmes to provide an opportunity to gain in-depth knowledge of and hands-on practice with the AAS instrument.

Aim

This training programme is specially designed for complete beginners, early users of AAS, and analysts looking to take their first formal course. We provide training on AAS with a graphite furnace. The training is conducted in accordance with specified protocols and the fundamental principles of AAS.

6-day training module

Day 1

Introduction to the AAS technique, basic principles, applications, and uses in various fields.

Day 2

Introduction to and hands-on practice in the preparation of different types of samples for the determination of general metals.

Day 3

Introduction to and hands-on practice in the preparation of different types of samples for the determination of heavy metals.

Day 4

Analysis of different types of water samples.

Day 5

Analysis of different types of food samples.

Day 6

Maintenance of AAS and troubleshooting covering all the possible problems.

Minimum eligibility required: Diploma or a graduate degree in science, or currently pursuing a qualification in a related field.
