Process water testing

The Eurofins network of Environment Testing laboratories across New Zealand is an IANZ-accredited provider of boiler water, feed water, and condensate testing services.

In New Zealand, OSH (Occupational Safety & Health) requires limited-attendance and unattended boilers to be tested monthly by an independent IANZ-approved laboratory.

Boiler water must be dosed for the boiler to run efficiently. The type of chemical treatment used for boilers is site-specific to the boiler type and its feed water, which is why Eurofins Environment Testing New Zealand has specifically tailored testing capability to address these variables. A chemical imbalance in a boiler system can lead to corrosion and damage and ultimately result in boiler failure and injury.

We routinely test for:

  • Ammonia
  • Chloride or salinity
  • Conductivity
  • Copper
  • Dissolved oxygen
  • Hardness
  • Hydroxide P2 alkalinity
  • Iron and manganese
  • Nitrate
  • pH
  • Phenolphthalein P1 alkalinity
  • Phosphate
  • Silica
  • Sulphide
  • Suspended solids
  • Total alkalinity
  • Total dissolved solids
  • Turbidity

We are also accredited to perform heterotrophic plate count (pour plate) tests.

Legionella testing

Legionella species live in warm water circulation systems found in retirement homes, hospitals, and swimming pool complexes. They can also live in domestic and hotel spa pools, and hot water cylinders that are not set at the correct temperature.
