Soil vapour monitoring

Soil vapour monitoring is a specialised process for determining the levels of contaminants within the headspace of soils.  It is often used in preliminary investigations for site contamination works in conjunction with groundwater and soil monitoring. We can sample from pre-installed bores or can install temporary bores if required.

Eurofins Environment Testing New Zealand laboratories are accredited to ISO/IEC 17025 for the sampling of air and gases around landfills by New Zealand standards and for analysis according to USEPA 8260 methodology. We also have the capability to sample soil vapour via carbon tubes & summa canisters with the preparation and analysis of the certified clean carbon tubes & summa canisters undertaken by our ISO/IEC 17025 accredited laboratory.

The comprehensive range of state-of-the-art equipment at Eurofins Environment Testing laboratories supports chimney emission analysis programmes based on recognised international protocols. Mobile laboratory units provide a clean environment for preparing and recovering samples from sites without hindering day-to-day activities.

Stack emission analysis and monitoring programmes utilise methods tailored to specific applications. Sampling and determinations are provided for for PAH’s (Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons), PM10 (Particulate Matter <10 microns), various metals including mercury (Hg), lead (Pb), and hexavalent chromium (Cr6+), as well as for ammonia (NH₃), hydrogen cyanide (HCN), formaldehyde, acids (HNO₃, HCl, H₂SO₄, H₃PO₄), and total fluoride.
