The European Union repeals the Directive 2009/48/EC (Toy Safety Directive) with a new Regulation EU 2025/2509 (Toy Safety Regulation). Entered into force on 1 January 2026, the new Regulation introduces significant changes to enhance users' safety when playing with toys.

The new Regulation enters into force on 1 January 2026. Given the substantial changes the new Regulation will bring to the toy industry, brands, manufacturers, and stakeholders should be fully prepared to ensure compliance with the requirements outlined in this Regulation.
