The Eurofins Indoor Air Comfort^® USA certification scheme ensures that products meet the strictest requirements regarding volatile organic substances (VOC) emissions from construction products. This assures manufacturers, retailers and end-users that the product is low emission.

Process of obtaining Indoor Air Comfort^® certification:

First, the product range and factories that produce these products need to be defined. This is done by giving one of our knowledgeable certification specialists detailed information about the raw materials and different components of the products that you aim as having part of the scope of certified products.
Our certification specialists will then arrange the products into different groups and then decide on which product(s) are the most worst-case for initial testing.
If the initial tests prove to be successful, the next step is to sign a contract.
Once this is done, the certification cycle can begin.
An initial audit is performed.
An inspection report is then produced which also mentions any potential non-conformities and how these should be rectified and by when.
After that, the certificate(s) is/are issued. For the years that follow, the samples for testing are sampled by the auditor upon inspection.
