Low Voltage Directive guide Earlier this year, the European Commission published the guideline on the application of Low Voltage Directive to Electrical equipment designed for use within certain voltage limits. The aim of this guideline is to help understand the correct application of this directive. |

First report about Radio Equipment Directive (RED)
On 13th November 2018, the European Commission published the “Report from the Commission to the European Parliament and the Council on the operation of the Radio Equipment Directive 2014/53/EU.”
This Report covers matters such as the transposition and operation of the RED, including the progress on drawing up the relevant standards and the activities of the Telecommunication Conformity Assessment and Market Surveillance Committee (TCAM). It also provides information on matters in relation to a coherent system, consumer protection, common chargers, e-labelling and the delegation of power.
This is the first report prepared, almost only one year after the end of the transitional period. The next report will be prepared and submitted in 2023.

Update Harmonised Standards- RED
On 14th September 2018, the European Commission published: “Commission communication in the framework of the implementation of Directive 1999/5/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council on radio equipment and telecommunications terminal equipment and the mutual recognition of their conformity and Directive 2014/53/EU of the European Parliament and of the Council on the harmonisation of the laws of the Member States relating to the making available on the market of radio equipment and repealing Directive 1999/5/EC”
