Microbiological analyses of all types of food products are performed for clients in the food industry, retailers and caterers. Several hundred thousand samples are analysed each year.
A wide range of methods are employed, including rapid methods with very short turn-around-times using immunoenzymatic techniques, molecular biology methods (PCR), especially for pathogenic bacteria e.g. Salmonella.
ELC is the competence centre for challenge tests within the food division, with a public recognition delivered by French agriculture ministry. The laboratory is also specialized in tailor made analytical solutions for specific needs, including off-site analyses.
Accreditations:
The laboratory is accredited by COFRAC, the French accreditation organisation, in accordance with ISO 17025, under the reference 1-2243 (accreditation scope available on www.cofrac.fr).
