Eurofins has recently implemented a new reference method for PFAS analysis in water, replacing DIN 38407-42 with the more up-to-date EN 17892 standard for both clean and unclean water matrices. EN 17892 is the method recommended by the European Commission for determination of PFAS20 under the Drinking Water Directive, while the UNEP (2015) methodology for quantification of branched PFOS remains unchanged. The implementation ensures continued accreditation across the same water matrices while supporting an expanded accredited PFAS scope.
The number of accredited PFAS has now been further extended to include another ten compounds (see table). This extension means that Eurofins is now accredited for the complete UK drinking water inspectorate (DWI) 48 PFAS scope in both clean water and unclean water matrices. To support different monitoring and compliance needs, Eurofins offers various packs covering this scope such as PFAS 50 (PLW81/PLW82; clean/unclean), PFAS 53 (PLW9J/PLW9K) and PFAS 57 (PLWD6/PLWD8).
