Expanded ADW Cleaning Performance Testing Capabilities

We are pleased to share an important update regarding our Automatic Dishwashing (ADW) cleaning performance testing services.

We have expanded our capabilities with a wider range of dishwashers, giving you greater flexibility to evaluate how your ADW products perform across different machines.

Expanded Dishwasher Fleet

In addition to our existing Miele GSL I, II, and III dishwashers, we now offer testing on a wider range of household appliances, including:

  • Bosch dishwashers
  • Siemens dishwashers (including Siemens 45 cm slimline dishwasher)
  • Whirlpool dishwashers
  • Beko dishwashers

This enlarged appliance portfolio enables more customised test setups and supports brand-specific performance evaluations.

New Soil Options for Enhanced Performance Assessment

To further strengthen our ADW testing capabilities, our R&D team has developed several new soils that provide improved discrimination between products and allow performance assessment under different washing conditions.

Egg Yolk & Whole Milk Soil / Egg Yolk & Cream Soil

These newly developed protein- and fat-based soils were specifically designed for short washing cycles at low temperatures (45°C to 50°C).

Building on the former Egg-Milk Soil used in earlier IKW methods, these updated formulations

  • Are easier and more robust to prepare,
  • Provide improved discrimination between product performances,
  • Are particularly suitable for short-cycle testing,
  • Can also be applied using a double-application protocol for standard IKW cleaning cycles.

As a result, they offer a valuable tool for supporting cleaning claims under modern washing conditions.

New "Gratin Dauphinois" Soil

We have also introduced an innovative burnt-on starch and cream soil, inspired by the traditional Gratin Dauphinois recipe.

Prepared from potato starch and cream, the soil is cooked, oven-dried, and finally baked at high temperature to create a challenging burnt-on residue. Key benefits include:

  • Assessment of cleaning performance on difficult burnt-on soils,
  • Suitability for higher-temperature washing programs,
  • Sensitivity to amylase-based cleaning mechanisms,
  • A unique option for evaluating advanced detergent performance.

This represents a novel addition to the ADW performance testing landscape and addresses increasingly relevant consumer use scenarios.

Flexible Testing Tailored to Your Claims

All newly developed soils can be tested individually or combined with standard IKW soils, allowing fully customisable test configurations tailored to your product positioning, performance objectives, and marketing claims.

Please contact us for further details or to discuss which protocol best fits your requirements. We look forward to supporting your product development and performance validation projects.
