FAQ

What kind of support does the Eurofins Foundation provide?

Expand_img

Grants can vary in amount up to a maximum of 25% of a project / initiative cost and no more than €25,000. Should you receive a grant from the Eurofins Foundation, a maximum of 10% of the funds can be allocated to overheads.

Grants are intended to cover a period of 9-12 months of a project's total duration, implemented anytime between November 2026 and January 2028.

Contributions are usually one-off and mostly non-recurring (except funds to universities providing grants to their students).

Donations can be split among several projects, but should remain significant enough to be impactful and support the objectives of the organisations or students/researchers that receive the donations.

The Eurofins Foundation reserves the right, should the application be successful, to provide a lower amount than requested by the organisation.

How does the selection process work?

Expand_img

All applications will first be reviewed by the Eurofins Foundation team to ensure they are complete and aligned with the Foundation’s objectives. If any additional information is needed, it will be requested via email. If the application does not meet the Eurofins Foundation's criteria, it will be removed from consideration and this decision will be communicated via e-mail.

Shortlisted applications will progress to the ‘Review by Steering Committee’ phase. This status change will be communicated via e-mail.

The Eurofins Foundation’ Steering Committee will assess the proposals according to the objectives of the Foundation, the project's priority areas of focus and overall impact. Applications that are pre-selected will receive a confirmation email and move on to the final review phase.

During the first half of December, applications that have passed the final review phase will receive a ‘Confirmation of grant attribution’ email. The unsuccessful applicants will also be notified via email with the reason(s) of the decision.

For all projects validated during the final review phase, funds will be made available between December 2025 and end of Q1 2026.

What else is considered during the selection process?

The Eurofins Foundation Steering Committee assesses all proposed projects to determine whether various eligibility criteria are met. However, additional consideration is also given as to whether:

  • The project addresses two or more of the Foundation's objectives;
  • The project is making a positive and lasting impact;
  • The project methodology is sufficiently described and is appropriate;
  • The supported organisation can feasibly find additional funding from other sources or make progress beyond the amount that may be contributed by the Eurofins Foundation;
  • The beneficiary organisation has demonstrated being effective in the past with international grants;
  • The project is using prevention measures and education to actively contribute to the reduction of inequalities and promote inclusion and diversity.

What is expected from the organisation supported?

The Eurofins Foundation expects organisations to provide a report on the use of the allocated funds. A reporting template will be provided in autumn (October/November 2026) to all beneficiaries. Any foreseen delays in the project should be proactively notified to the Eurofins Foundation.
