Package Integrity

Abstract

Medical device packaging serves as a critical line of defense, protecting devices from contamination, damage and environmental challenges. Like a fortress, a sterile barrier system is designed to keep harmful external threats out but is only as effective as its integrity.

A microscopic channel, seal defect, puncture, or other breach can compromise an otherwise robust package system. Demonstrating package integrity requires more than simply performing a test. It demands an understanding of what defects matter, how they occur, when to evaluate them, and which technologies are best suited to detect them. This webinar will explore sterile barrier system integrity test methods and deployment across the medical device product life cycle. Join us as we look beyond the seal and examine what it takes to demonstrate the fortress remains intact.

During this webinar, we will discuss:

  • The role package integrity plays in protecting device safety and sterility
  • Common package defects, how they occur, and their potential impact
  • Key package integrity test methods and the technologies used to detect defects
  • How package integrity testing supports development, validation and quality throughout the device life cycle
