Conducting food safety audits is an effective way to ensure compliance in the food supply chain.

Retailer supplier audit

Eurofins Food Assurance companies perform Costco GMP supplier audits and Costco Addendums. Food manufacturers supplying to Costco are subject to Costco's Food Safety Expectations and audit requirements. Eurofins Food Assurance is an approved food safety audit provider for Costco.

  • Costco small supplier GMP audit: One day. If the site has 25 or fewer employees, and this is a first-time audit, then the site qualifies for Costco's small supplier GMP audit, which is announced. The site must be compliant with the standard Costco GMP audit by the following year.
  • Costco GMP audit: One day. This is an unannounced audit.
  • Costco addendum: No additional audit time required. Pairing the Costco addendum with an annual GFSI certification audit reduces costs.

Second-party audit

Establishing a comprehensive auditing framework allows businesses to earn consumer trust, safeguard their brand reputation, and contribute to the advancement of the food industry. Second-party audits in the food industry evaluate the performance and adherence of suppliers, manufacturers, and sites, and are conducted by entities with direct business ties to the company. These audits are vital in maintaining supply chain integrity and preserving the brand reputation of companies through mutually agreed quality standards and country regulations.

We can customise second-party audit programmes and adopt different audit requirements to best suit the complex landscape of food industry.

Our certification activities are provided by independent Certification Bodies, separately from any consulting activities. Impartiality is safeguarded by Eurofins Assurance’s relevant policies to avoid conflicts of interest.
