• Phlebotomy appointments are available at our laboratory in Guildford which has free onsite parking.
• Appointments are available Monday to Friday, 9:00 to 16:00, excluding bank holidays.
• Appointments are 30 minutes for adults and children between 8 and 16 years, and 60 minutes for children under the age of 8 years.
• Our inhouse phlebotomists include paediatric qualified phlebotomists trained to take blood samples from children from the age of 25 months upwards.
• Appointments must be booked in advance, walk in appointments are not available.

• Please check with your doctor if you need to omit any medication or need to be on a special diet before having your blood sample taken.
• We will need details of your requesting clinician and request form - additional information will be required if appointment is part of insurance cover.
• If your blood sample is for glucose, insulin or lipids tests, a fasting sample is required - contact us for more details.
• Please be aware that for Glucose Tolerance Tests (GTT) patients are asked to remain on-site for approximately 3 hours whilst the test is conducted.

If you have a blood sample taken at our Guildford laboratory to send another laboratory, your sample will be labelled and handed to you by the phlebotomist. It is your responsibility to send the sample to the laboratory carrying out the testing.
