New proposal to ban a substance under Annex II of Cosmetics Regulation On 24th July 2018 , the European Commission notified to World Trade Organization their Draft Commission Regulation amending Annex II to Regulation (EC) No 1223/2009 of the European Parliament and of the Council on cosmetic products. |
The aim of this draft is to add the substance 2-Chloro-p-Phenylenediamine to the list of prohibited substances in Annex II of the Regulation (EC) Nº 1223/2009. This substance and its sulphate and dihydrochloride salts would not be able to be used in hair, eyebrow and eyelash dye products.

Risk assessment of protection products In July 2018, the Agence Nationale de Sécurité Sanitaire de l’Alimentation, de l’Environnement et du Travail (ANSES) published the health risk assessment about intimate protection products. |
The Agency, nevertheless, recommends that manufacturers improve the quality of these products in order to eliminate or minimize the presence of chemicals.
