2 October 2026
Eurofins Scientific SE (the “Company” or “Eurofins”) (EUFI.PA) announces the completion of the divestment of its Electrical & Electronic Testing business (“MET Labs”) to UL Solutions Inc., which took place on 1 October 2026. The transaction was announced on 14 April 2026 for an Enterprise Value of €575 million on a cash and debt free basis.
MET Labs is an international network of laboratories offering product safety testing, inspection and certification services for electrical and electronics products, with approximately 1,300 staff globally.
The transaction is consistent with Eurofins’ focus on allocating capital toward its core testing for life capabilities. Proceeds from the divestment will support the Group’s capital allocation priorities, including debt reduction, capital expenditure in laboratories and owned sites, next-generation digital solutions, robotics and AI developments, share buybacks and strategic acquisitions in food, environmental, pharmaceutical, clinical and related testing areas.
Comment from Dr Gilles Martin, Eurofins CEO: “I would like to thank the MET Labs teams for their commitment and expertise, which have built successful and in several cases leading businesses over almost 20 years in the Eurofins network. UL Solutions' focus on applied safety science makes it a natural home for these laboratories, and I wish our former colleagues every success in this next chapter."
