Starting September 2025, Amazon requires Direct Validation for all flagged children’s toys ASINs. According to Amazon’s definition, children’s toys are products intended for learning or play by a child 12 years of age or younger.
As of March 2026, it applies to the following countries: US, Canada, EU, and UK.
Marketplace-specific requirements:
As an Amazon-approved Direct Validation provider, Eurofins Softlines & Hardlines helps you meet these requirements:
Before testing begins, tell us that the results are intended for Amazon and specify every marketplace where you plan to sell. This helps prevent missing tests, images or supporting information that may otherwise require report revisions or further testing.

Apart from that, you are also required to comply with a broad set of safety regulations and standards if selling toys globally on Amazon. These include the EU Toy Safety Directive, EN 71, CE marking, REACH, CPSIA, ASTM F963, ISO 8124, and the U.S. CPSC eFiling requirement. Since in March 2026, Amazon has mandated Direct Validation for clothing storage units (CSUs) ASINs in the US and Canada, including CSUs intended for children. Amazon defines CSUs as freestanding furniture designed to store clothing, incorporating drawers, including fabric, and/or hinged doors, and meeting all of the following criteria:
Examples include chests, chests of drawers, drawer chests, armoires, chiffarobes, bureaus, door chests, and dressers, with the exception of bookcases, shelving units, entertainment furniture, jewellery armoires, etc.
This new policy applies to the flagged CSUs listings on Amazon in the U.S. and Canada, including both new listings and previously approved ASINs. This includes fabric clothing storage units, which were previously excluded.
Marketplace-specific requirements:
As an Amazon-approved Direct Validation provider, Eurofins Softlines & Hardlines helps you meet these requirements quickly and efficiently:
Tell us before testing begins if your CSU reports will be used for Amazon compliance in the US, Canada or both. This allows us to establish the appropriate scope and capture required images, assembly details and supporting data from the outset.

Starting in September 2026, Amazon requires sellers of children’s jewellery in the US and Canada to work with an Amazon-approved Testing, Inspection, and Certification (TIC) provider to validate all flagged ASINs.
Covered products include decorative items intended to be worn by children, such as anklets, bracelets, earrings, necklaces, rings and watches, as well as jewellery-making or repair kits. The applicable age definition differs by marketplace: 12 years or younger in the US and 15 years or younger in Canada.
Marketplace-specific requirements:
As an Amazon-approved Direct Validation provider, Eurofins Softlines & Hardlines helps you meet these requirements quickly and efficiently:
Identify Amazon Direct Validation as the intended use before testing begins and confirm whether the jewellery will be sold in the US, Canada or both. Reports prepared without this information may need revisions, additional supporting evidence or further testing.

Eurofins Softlines & Hardlines is proud to be an Amazon-approved TIC provider and has close connections with Amazon to ensure our customers and their sellers meet requirements and have their products listed to sell.
For ASINs subject to Direct Validation, sellers must work with an Amazon-approved TIC provider to verify compliance. The TIC reviews the applicable documentation or conducts testing and submits the results to Amazon on the seller's behalf.
The process generally follows these steps, with requirements varying by product category:
Step 1: Initiate on Seller Central
Navigate to Performance → Account Health → Policy Compliance → Verify Your Products. Select the ASINs flagged for validation and create a Test Request Form (TRF).
Step 2: Select Eurofins as your TIC provider
Choose Eurofins from Amazon's approved TIC list for the relevant category (toys or furniture/CSU). Alternatively, contact us here. Our team will be in touch with you to discuss scope, pricing, and timelines.
Step 3: Submit reports or samples
Already have a test report? We review and validate it. Need fresh testing? Send product samples to our nearest accredited laboratory.
Step 4: Results synced to Amazon
Once verification is complete, we transmit results directly to Amazon's system. You'll see "Passed" status in your Seller Central dashboard within 1 to 2 business days.
