How does Amazon Direct Validation work with Eurofins Softlines & Hardlines?

The Direct Validation process replaces the former self-upload compliance workflow. Whether you sell toys, furniture, or both, the steps are the same:

Step 1: Initiate on Seller Central

Navigate to Performance → Account Health → Policy Compliance → Verify Your Products. Select the ASINs flagged for validation and create a Test Request Form (TRF).

Step 2: Select Eurofins as your TIC provider

Choose Eurofins from Amazon's approved TIC list for the relevant category (toys or furniture/CSU). Alternatively, contact us here. Our team will be in touch with you to discuss scope, pricing, and timelines.

Step 3: Submit reports or samples

Already have a test report? We review and validate it. Need fresh testing? Send product samples to our nearest accredited laboratory.

Step 4: Results synced to Amazon

Once verification is complete, we transmit results directly to Amazon's system. You'll see "Passed" status in your Seller Central dashboard within 1 to 2 business days.

Amazon Direct Validation for toys

Starting September 2025, Amazon requires Direct Validation for children’s toys. According to Amazon’s definition, children’s toys are products intended for learning or play by a child 12 years of age or younger.

As of March 2026, it applies to the following countries: the US, Canada, the UK, Belgium, Germany, France, the Netherlands, Poland, Italy, Spain, and Sweden.

As an Amazon-approved Direct Validation provider, Eurofins Softlines & Hardlines helps you meet these requirements:

  • Document verification: Review of test reports, DoC/CPC, and other compliance documents
  • Label and manual review: Ensure product labels and user instructions meet regulatory standards
  • Corrective support: Provide corrective advice and re-inspection if needed
  • Certificate upload and reporting: Submit compliance certificates to Amazon and share reports with sellers

Apart from that, you are also required to comply with a broad set of safety regulations and standards if selling toys globally on Amazon. These include the EU Toy Safety Directive, EN 71, CE marking, REACH, CPSIA, ASTM F963, ISO 8124, and the upcoming U.S. CPSC eFiling requirement. Amazon Direct Validation for furniture (CSUs)

Starting in March 2026, Amazon mandates Direct Validation for clothing storage units (CSUs) and for CSUs intended for children. Amazon defines CSU as a freestanding furniture designed to store clothes with drawers (including fabric) and/or hinged doors that meet all of the following criteria:

  • Height: At least 27 inches
  • Weight: At least 30 pounds
  • Storage volume: At least 3.2 cubic feet

Examples include chests, chests of drawers, drawer chests, armoires, chiffarobes, bureaus, door chests, and dressers, with the exception of bookcases, shelving units, entertaining furniture, jewellery armoires, etc.

This new policy applies to the required CSUs listings on Amazon in the U.S. and Canada, including both new listings and previously approved ASINs. This includes fabric clothing storage units, which were previously excluded.

As an Amazon-approved Direct Validation provider, Eurofins Softlines & Hardlines helps you meet these requirements quickly and efficiently:

  • Document verification: Review of test reports, CPC, and other compliance documents against applicable standards, including 16 CFR Part 1261, ASTM F2057-23, 16 CFR Part 1303, 40 CFR Part 770, and for units intended for children, CPSIA and 16 CFR 1500.48/1500.49
  • Label and manual review: Ensure product labels, assembly instructions, and tip-over warning labels meet regulatory standards
  • Corrective support: Provide corrective advice and re-testing if needed
  • Certificate upload & reporting: Submit compliance certificates to Amazon and share reports with sellers
