Eurofins Agro Testing Wageningen is working with partners in the greenhouse horticulture sector to develop systems that connect data on nutrient solutions and substrates with other types of data, such as climate information and crop yields. This enables growers to further optimise both their cultivation processes and overall business operations. While automated data integration via APIs is still being developed, growers can already start linking their data efficiently using XML or Excel files.
As greenhouse horticulture becomes more digital, combining different data streams is crucial for gaining deeper insights into the cultivation process. The automatic integration of analysis data on growers' farms is a necessary next step.
Eurofins Agro aims to make analysis data easily accessible, while leaving the development of platforms and systems to other parties. In doing so, Eurofins Agro adheres to the international laboratory data exchange standard known as the eLab standard, as defined by AgroConnect.
Integrating different data streams help to further optimise cultivation. For example, combining climate data with nutrient solution or substrate analysis allows for precise fertilisation tailored to the specific needs of the crop. This not only improves growth but can also contributes to more resilient plants and optimal yields. Moreover, with rising fertiliser and energy costs and ongoing efforts to reduce emissions, gaining better data insights is more crucial than ever.
Growers who send in samples receive detailed reports with results and tailored advice aimed at improving their cultivation practices. Eurofins AgroWageningen is working with various partners in the sector to develop API integrations that will, in the future, allow analysis data to be automatically linked to other systems.
This technology is still in active development. In the meantime, we enable growers to easily and effectively share and process data using XML or Excel files, for example, with their fertiliser supplier or climate control system provider.
