Dr. Kamash Pillai is the Vice President of Technical Services for Eurofins Built Environment Testing and brings more than 25 years of experience in environmental microbiology, building water systems, and laboratory operations. He holds a Master’s degree in Environmental Science and a Ph.D. in Microbiology, Molecular Biology, and Biochemistry from the University of Idaho and has extensive expertise in Legionella, bacteriology, mold, and USP testing.

Throughout his career, Dr. Pillai has overseen environmental microbiology and built environment laboratories across the United States, supporting industries ranging from healthcare and pharmaceuticals to commercial and industrial facilities. His work focuses on helping organizations understand and manage microbial risks within complex building water systems through advanced testing strategies, Water Management Programs, and regulatory compliance. He regularly collaborates with engineers, facility managers, healthcare professionals, and environmental consultants to help organizations better understand and manage waterborne microbial risks.
