Advanced cosmetic safety testing

Comprehensive safety assessment solutions supported by innovative scientific methods

In order to ensure consumer protection, all manufacturers of personal care products and cosmetics are obliged to identify possible hazardous ingredients in their products. In order to determine these ingredients, a toxicological test is carried out to exclude any risk to the health of consumers.

Within Europe, stringent regulatory requirements apply to the safety assessment of cosmetic products and their ingredients. Furthermore, only cosmetic products that comply with applicable regulatory requirements may be placed on the market.

Our Eurofins laboratory is a leading contract research organisation in the field of cosmetic safety assessment. We are committed to the 3R principles of W.M.S. Russell and R.L. Burch, first introduced in 1959. These principles promote the continuous development and implementation of innovative and scientifically sound testing approaches.

Supporting the development and validation of alternative methods for the evaluation of chemicals and cosmetic products is a key part of our scientific commitment. Through a broad range of advanced in vitro test methods, we are able to generate and assess all necessary toxicological data in full compliance with GLP requirements.

As a member of EU-NETVAL (European Union Network of Laboratories for the Validation of Alternative Methods), we actively participate in the validation of new testing methods in collaboration with regulatory authorities. The aim of the consortium is to assess the reliability and relevance of alternative methods for the safety assessment of chemicals and cosmetics.

Why choose the Eurofins network of laboratories?

The Eurofins network of laboratories is a global contract research organization for the chemical and cosmetics industries, offering a comprehensive range of alternative test methods for the toxicological evaluation of cosmetics.

Our team has many years of experience in the development of alternative test methods and is actively involved in the validation of new methods.

With a large team of scientists, Eurofins laboratories are well equipped to assist you in successful, rapid and cost-effective product development in line with consumer protection.
