Winter Hardiness Trials in Lublin, Poland

Are you looking for a solution to evaluate your seed materials in dry freeze conditions? Do you want to check if your candidate biostimulant product improve cereal tolerance to frost?

We can perform winter hardiness trials in the region of Lublin in eastern Poland. The facility has dry freeze capacity and, as the seasonal cold and frosty weather lasts for an extended period, we are able to remove snow if we have heavy snowfall.

Usually barley is sown during the first week of September, with wheat and triticale sown 10 days later, timings are:

By August 30th: send Barley seeds dispatched in the cassette cells
By September 5th: send Wheat and Triticale seeds dispatched in the cassette cells

A complete service offer

Our local team manage the field preparation, crop management, trial design, fencing, labelling
Drilling: we are equipped with a single row seeder Haldrup SD-50 type, 6 rows of 1.25m track width
- In-plot, we can sow 1 or 2 or 6 rows x 1.2m length. We typically use 12 chamber magazines
Assessments: we typically conduct a plant emergence score, an after Winter counting and restart green in Spring. For biostimulant trials, we include a yield assessment and postharvest analyses
Biostimulants: we can perform seed treatment, in furrow and broadcast spray applications
Crops: barley, wheat and triticale are available in 2022 and we will extend to oilseed rape in 2023
