Record breaking rainfall for Australia’s East Coast
It has been a wet start to 2022 for a large part of Australia’s east coast with many regions recording record-breaking rainfall events.
With already waterlogged soils and many major storage dams at capacity devastating, floods have also been experienced along the coast. The above average rainfall is the result of a La Nina weather event which could see rain continue for the next few months. Further inland and southern Australia has not seen such extremes in weather and are now preparing for the coming winter cropping season.
