New Technology for Drone Assessments
In the UK and Europe, Eurofins Agroscience Services has invested in several new multispectral drones, namely the DJI Mavic 3 MS model, to be able to better assess vigour, NDVI and crop height.
Drone technology increases EAS’ ability to highlight differences in fertiliser, bio-stimulant and seeds trials, in a quantitative and objective way.
The team works with a partner to produce ortho-mosaic maps of field trials through collation of many high-resolution images across the trial area. Algorithms are then applied to calculate crop indexes and other traits such as counts, height, % flowering etc.
In addition, EAS provides easy online access to high-resolution plot images at any time during and after a trial, increasing study traceability.
The images below were taken at our potato blight platform site, in Derbyshire, UK. Plot differences and evolution were analysed over time at field, plot, and plant scale.
EAS Groups expert teams are equipped for these assessments in several countries including the UK, Ireland, France, Spain, Hungary, Romania and Germany with Bulgaria and Poland in the pipeline!
