EAS Hercules expands instrumentation to include LCMS Exploris 240
The EAS Hercules Structure Elucidation team has upgraded its instrumentation from the Thermo Q-Exactive (with UHPLC) high resolution mass spectrometer to the Thermo Scientific Orbitrap Exploris 240 mass spectrometer
This will perform high-resolution accurate mass analysis, with and without higher energy C trap dissociation collision (HCD).
Boasting increased sensitivity and specificity, the Exploris 240 produces more fragmentation products and an increased scanning range during full scans, which contributes to greater quantitative accuracy. The Exploris 240 is also attached to a Vanquish UHPLC unit, which has been streamlined for easier maintenance and repairs to reduce downtime and the need for service, resulting in improved efficiency.

The Structure Elucidation team supports environmental fate and metabolism studies at the EAS Hercules laboratory in California and is equipped with additional best-in-class instrumentation, including Thermo Fleet LCQ Ion Traps, Sciex 6500 (triple quad), flowthrough 14C detectors (LabLogic Beta-ram), and a variety of other specialized analyzers, extractors, and incubators.
