EAS Experts from Easton, USA contribute in Japan through their knowledge and network
Colleagues visiting Japan from EAS Easton, USA organized a seminar titled "Emerging technologies and ecotoxicology at Eurofins, Easton (USA)" during J-SOT (50th Annual Japanese Society of Toxicology) meeting in June 2023
The seminar was held just a few minutes' walk from the J-SOT venue after the first day of the conference. Around 30 ecotoxicology experts from various industry sectors including agrochemicals, chemicals and consultants participated in the seminar, and learned more about the capabilities of the Easton laboratory and the latest regulatory updates in this field.
Suzanne Schneider, US Associate Director of Aquatic Toxicology, gave an in-depth presentation on aquatic toxicology testing, including bioconcentration testing, Tier I and Tier II endocrine testing and new developments in the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Endocrine Disruptor Screening Program. Historical control data was also discussed.
EAS Easton General Manager Yagnesh Patel provided an overview of other ecotoxicology testing services including avian safety testing and terrestrial ecotox as well as emerging biological technologies at the Easton site.
Following the seminar, a reception was held, and participants discussed topics presented in the seminar by the two speakers. As this was the first event of its kind, participants enjoyed expanding their networks and appreciated the expertise shared in Japan. EAS Easton plans to host a similar seminar next year in Japan.
