Affordable 3D imaging technology now available for your screening programs
In 2023 we invested in a Phenospex TraitFinder® to better evaluate your novel biosolutions, fertilizers and your new plant genotypes.
The AI-based 3D plant scanner can deliver 20+ parameters on each plant at high frequency, including biomass, leaf area, chlorophyl and many others. It will detect and analyse subtle differences in plant morphology and physiology over time. Our first use cases are showing promising results: we have highlighted efficacy differences on relevant parameters such as 3D leaf area and digital biomass, unlike standard manual assessments.
Digitalization strengthens data quality by removing bias attributed to human subjectivity, it also increases repeatability across experiments, and provides full traceability. More generally, EAS teams around the world are implementing several new tools for screening and development studies, to deliver an increased amount of high-quality data to clients. Our existing offer also includes drone imagery analytics, rhizotron studies, rain tower experiments, timelapse imagery, connected field sensors and more. Watch more examples in this short video.
This new technology is available at our Bredelaar field station in the Netherlands, with expertise for experiments in controlled conditions, including artificial contamination.
