Dunes Learning Center (DLC)

Dunes Learning Center (DLC) is the non-profit education partner of Indiana Dunes National Park. Since 1998, more than 130,000 students from diverse communities and backgrounds have participated in an environmental education programme to discover, learn, explore, and reflect on the science and the wonder of nature along the south shore of Lake Michigan.

DLC is proud to be at the forefront of environmental education in the Indiana Dunes. Community-based day programmes and overnight experiences in a National Park plant seeds for the future, encourage lifelong learning about the environment, and empower young people to be well-informed citizens who are actively engaged in their communities and the world. The ultimate goal is for every student to make responsible choices for our planet, creating healthy, vibrant communities.

In 2020, Eurofins Foundation provided bursaries for DLC to retain two Naturalist Fellows who were instrumental in the shaping, developing and delivering virtual programs during the COVID-19 lockdown in Spring and Summer 2020 and that will continue during the 2021-22 school year.
