Vector control

From formulation screening and resistance monitoring to indoor and outdoor mosquito studies.

Mosquito control is a global public health concern. The only methods to reduce the transmission of mosquito-borne diseases are to control vector species and to protect ourselves against mosquito bites.

With more than 20 years of experience in vector control product development, our highly qualified scientists manage in-house field and laboratory GLP studies conducted against a wide range of mosquito species.

Our teams conduct vector control studies at our GLP facilities and we also partner with local CROs or government funded research institutes to provide global study directorship for countries without OECD GLP, as well as standard protocols and procedures to facilitate a consistent approach at all testing sites.

Our vector control testing capabilities include:

  • Laboratory phase 1 formulation screening
  • WHO resistance monitoring
  • Indoor residual sprays
  • Indoor space sprays
  • Outdoor ground or aerial ULV sprays
  • Indoor or outdoor spatial repellency

In compliance with Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) and Good Experimental practices (GEP), we evaluate a wide range of formulation and application types to support product development to control:

  • Urban pests (cockroaches, silverfish, wasps, dust mites, flies, spiders, ants)
  • Public health and vector insects (ticks, bed bugs, biting flies and mosquitoes, head lice)
  • Animal health (fleas, poultry mites, stable flies)
  • Stored product beetles and moths, fruit flies and scuttle flies
  • Wood boring insects/termites

Our testing capabilities include:

  • Laboratory and field efficacy studies
  • Laboratory formulation screening with direct spray and/or residual efficacy bioassay
  • Semi-field residual efficacy
  • Testing for baits, attractants, repellents and monitors, pest control devices and insect traps
  • Field efficacy testing against outdoor flying and crawling insects
  • Packaging Penetration Study

Our expert teams are available to discuss your data requirements for registration, R&D, screening and marketing. We tailor our study design and protocol to suit your testing needs.
