The challenge our client faced

This Client’s Manufacturing Science & Technology (MS&T) group wanted to commercially scale up its production processes. A PSS® team was put in place to develop upstream, downstream, and analytical processes in support of developing and optimising production processes. 

Our solution to their problem

Eurofins PSS Insourcing Solutions® is project-based and frees clients from the hassles often associated with co-employment arrangements. Our solutions offer more flexible timeframes and lower costs than managing and maintaining a fixed headcount.

The PSS® team executed routine and non-routine laboratory-based studies to develop, optimise, scale, and validate processes in support of up and downstream manufacturing activities, including fermentation/cell culture, harvest, purification, and quality testing in a cGMP environment; as part of this work, the team wrote protocols, reports, and SOPs that were approved by the Client. As processes were developed, the team was also responsible for tech transfer.

The results

The Client was so pleased with the work that it asked PSS® to expand its efforts to include QC support including authoring method validation protocols and reports as well as perform data audits, analytical equipment qualifications, raw material testing, inspection and release, microbiology testing, and environment and utility monitoring.
