Asbestos Management and Removal
Eurofins Maritime Services (EMS) provides professional asbestos management and removal support to ensure safe and compliant handling of asbestos-containing materials on board vessels.
When asbestos is identified, EMS assists shipowners and managers with the development and implementation of asbestos management strategies in line with IMO, SOLAS and IHM requirements. Our services focus on controlling risks, protecting crew health and ensuring regulatory compliance.
EMS supports asbestos removal projects through risk assessments, project supervision and technical guidance. We assist in the preparation of asbestos management plans, safe work procedures and toolbox meetings, ensuring that removal activities are carried out under controlled and safe conditions.
Following asbestos removal activities, Eurofins Maritime Services can issue an Asbestos Safe Certificate. This certification confirms that the asbestos removal has been performed in accordance with internationally accepted procedures and provides assurance of safety using a method recognised and accepted by classification societies and flag states.
