New entry 68 added to REACH Annex XVII – PFOA and PFOA-related substances
Perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA), its salts and PFOA-related substances will be added to REACH annex XVII restricted substances list as entry 68.
The substances will be restricted in for example consumer products, including clothing and textile products, inks and medical textiles.

Specifically the entry states that After 4 July 2020, Perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA) and its salts “shall not be manufactured, or placed on the market as substances on their own ... [and] shall not be used in the production of, or placed on the market in: (a) another substance, as a constituent; (b) a mixture; (c) an article, in a concentration equal to or above 25 ppb of PFOA including its salts or 1000 ppb of one or a combination of PFOA-related substances.” (Read the regulation here).
