BUSINESS ANALYST

Overall objectives:

The ComLIMS Applications have been developed internally and allow rapid and efficient integration of laboratories into the Eurofins Group.

The main objectives of this position, ComLIMS Business Analyst, are:

  • to follow up on the complete lifecycle of ComLIMS B2I features from specification to release, in an Agile environment;
  • to manage data analysis / BI projects and perform ETL (Extract/Transform/Load) on ComLIMS Data for our stakeholders and user community;
  • to manage interfaces between ComLIMS B2I and other applications (specifications, integration tests, service contracts…)

 

Specific assignments:

1. Product management

Support of Product Owner role:

  • Organization of user requirements gathering workshops, surveys and other requirements elicitations techniques with users and partners
  • Creation of user requirements and user stories
  • Creation of mockups for various user interface panels/screens
  • Active collaboration with development team, other Business Analysts and QA Engineers
  • Verification of “Done” status of implemented user stories
  • Ability to challenge constructively both development and QA team members, including offshore team members

End-User training/support

  • Production of How-to manual and of knowledge base articles
  • Presentations and training sessions on new developments made available to end users
  • Follow-up bug and incident resolution (level 3 support)

 

2. Interface Management

Management of cross-application requirements

  • Periodical checks on existing requirements, creation & updates of requirements
  • Production of service contracts or interface specifications

Chairing or participating in interface meetings with other applications representatives

  • Production of meeting minutes
  • Follow-up on actions decided during meetings

 

3. Business Intelligence

Manage set-up of underlying infrastructure:

  • Liaise with development manager and other stakeholders as required to communicate requirements for data warehousing
  • Manage deployment of CUBEs

Drive internal developments or configuration required for ETL activities

  • Design reports layouts & data visualization panels
  • Design star schemas for upcoming developments
  • Author data map / ETL specifications
  • Follow-up development and test activities for internal tools
  • Investigate capabilities of existing tools (MS Sharepoint) or commercial products to support our BI needs

 

Key attributes of the successful applicant:

  • Excellent analytical skills, ability to grasp complex and abstract concepts and communicate them in a clear and concise manner to users, developers, or any other stakeholders
  • Very good communication skills
  • Ability to write accurate and concise documentation
  • Fluency in English
  • Self-starter, ability to work both autonomously and within a multi-located team

 

Skills and knowledge:

  • SQL is a plus
  • UML is a plus
  • Knowledge of SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) and/or SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) is a plus
  • Knowledge of a mainstream Project Management or SDLC Methodology, preferably Agile (Scrum, Kanban, DAD…) is a plus
  • Knowledge of ITIL (Foundation level) is a plus
  • Knowledge of Service-Oriented-Architecture is a plus
  • Knowledge of data warehouses is a plus

  • Databases: MS SQL Server, MS SQL Management Studio
  • OS: Windows
  • Software development: Microsoft Sharepoint, Microsoft Visual Studio
  • Requirements Management & SDLC: MS Team Foundation Server
  • Business Process Modeling: Bizagi Process Modeler
