Eurofins PSS delivers scientific laboratory management and testing solutions at the client’s site when needed the most

At the onset, the international crisis of COVID-19 was impacting clients’ employees ability to work on-site. Clients did not have existing policies and procedures in place to support employees that needed to remain onsite and those that now had to work remotely.

One PSS client in the eastern US tapped into our policies and procedures while developing their own. PSS has a long standing, strong working relationship with this client and is part of their response team. While the Client was working to define what COVID meant on-site, they recognized PSS Senior Leadership was a step ahead and initially replicated our procedures.

Our Solution

One example is Eurofins PSS had contact-tracing logs well before the client and required all PSS personnel wear masks on-site. Initially, monitoring and reporting via self-entry in spreadsheet logs was proving to be slow and cumbersome so once again Eurofins PSS pivoted to improve the process. A Eurofins PSS Leader created a SharePoint site, which made the process quicker and more efficient. This led to a lean project, which saved the client nearly $80,000 by reducing time and eliminating steps within the contact/travel logging process. The utilization of a SharePoint site fully eliminated our employees logging on to Citrix, emailing the files, data compilation for all leaders and senior leadership, and allowed PSS to have 24/7 access to the most up to date records. As it is a daily task for our team members, even saving a few minutes a day (for nearly 100 employees) had a massive impact on our site’s productivity (not to mention making such a critical action more efficient and less stressful for our teams).

As a result, the Client derived their own form to streamline. The Client expressed gratitude as other vendors on-site were not even contributing to the safety of the site. Approximately 60% of our PSS staff has continued working on-site through COVID and this site expanded to address client urgencies associated with COVID.
