Eurofins Agroscience Services, the leading global service provider for agrochemical testing, is pleased to announce that Nathalie Ledirac joined the Group on the 1st July 2019 as Senior Regulatory Toxicologist.

Nathalie has a PhD in Toxicology and 25 years of experience with agrochemicals and industrial chemicals. She qualified as a European Registered Toxicologist (ERT) in 2011.

Her thesis focused on the potential impact of pesticides and active pharmaceutical ingredients on the regulation of cytochromes P450 (especially CYP1A, 2B and 3A subfamilies) by using in vitro cultured hepatocytes and keratinocytes.

Nathalie started out as a researcher at the French National Institute for Agricultural Research (INRA), working on the mechanisms of action of pesticides and the key roles of MAP kinases, oxidative stress and apoptosis pathways.

In 2006, Nathalie gained her expertise from CEHTRA, first as a regulatory toxicologist for agrochemicals, working on the toxicology part of registration dossiers for active substances and products, study monitoring, human risk assessment, writing position papers and meeting with national and European regulatory authorities.

She provides expert toxicology advice particularly for testing strategies including alternative approaches such as read-across, bridging toxicology studies, weight of evidence, and in silico testing. She is also experienced in study monitoring and interpretation of data with a focus on developmental and reproductive toxicology.

Nathalie is member of FRANCOPA (French platform dedicated to development, validation, and dissemination of alternative methods in animal testing).

This appointment demonstrates EAS Group’s commitment to strengthening expertise in the Eurofins Agroscience Regulatory Group.  The addition of a highly knowledgeable Regulatory Toxicology expert, brings added value to clients via proposal and implementation of sound regulatory strategies in the very challenging area of toxicology.
