Eurofins Agroscience Services (EAS), the leading global service provider for agrochemical testing, is pleased to announce that Gualberto Bantoc has joined the group as Director of Field Services (Asia), effective 17th June 2019.

Gualberto has more than 20 years of experience in the agricultural trials service business and crop protection industry, working at both a country and regional level.  He is a certified researcher in the conduct of field bio-efficacy and residue trials for regulatory purposes in the Philippines. Furthermore, Gualberto has extensive experience in the implementation of GLP residue studies for MRL and Import Tolerance purposes.

Prior to joining EAS Group, Gualberto held senior positions with a number of agricultural trials service companies: Elocin Agriculture Research and Biotek Agriculture Research, both as Managing Director (Asia), developing the business and implementing crop protection product profiling and registration studies for major crops, while setting up local trial facilities in the countries.

In the field of crop protection, he worked with BASF for 9 years, initially as Country Development and Registration Manager, then as Regional Product Development Manager for Asia. His career spanned several mergers from AgrEvo to Aventis CropScience then on to Bayer CropScience. During this period, Gualberto gained expertise in the conduct of field research on application technique, herbicide, insecticide and fungicide indications, on a diverse number of crops and pests. Over 10 years of service, he assumed the roles of Field Researcher, IT Specialist, Project Manager, Crop Manager and the Asia Pacific Data Management Champion.

Gualberto majored in Agricultural Instrumentation under the Applied Physics degree from the University of the Philippines Los Baños (UPLB). Upon graduation, he was immediately offered a teaching and research position in UPLB and has served this premier agriculture school in the Philippines for 4 years.

This appointment demonstrates EAS Group’s commitment to strengthening the global leadership team and client proposition.

Gregoire Boyen; Head of Field Cluster, says of the appointment, “We are very pleased to welcome Gualberto Bantoc to the team. He is a results-oriented professional, driven to establish strategic, mutually beneficial partnerships and relationships with clients.
